You wouldn’t think that going to the bathroom in the middle of the night would be the place or the time that God speaks to you, but He does! I have a salt lamp that serves as a night light in my bathroom, but last night when I went in there, it seemed darker than normal. In my grogginess, I realized that a cup had been placed in front of it. When I moved the cup, I could see well again. At that moment, I had a revelation. I have been struggling with the fact that my prayers aren’t always answered, even though I am praying that God’s will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Suddenly, I saw a dark body standing between me and the light. God’s light is shining through me, but there are areas of darkness in me (and others) caused by something standing in His way. It may be sin. It may be unbelief. Or it may even be an actual demon. I’m not sure, but I am sure of this one thing: God knows what it is and He is fully able to move it.   In the ancient Jewish culture, when a boy went through his bar mitzvah, he was given the right to do business in the family name. We as born-again Christians are given the right to do business with the Father in the Name of the LORD Jesus Christ.   My son has a checking account. Occasionally, he needs me to make transactions for him. He has authorized a debit card for me so I can do business for him. It has my name on it, but it's his account.   Praying in the Name of Jesus is not about saying the words like some magical abracadabra. It's about praying with the authority we have as believers in Christ Jesus.
