Is the Holy Spirit a Woman?

Image
Note: All scripture references and word definitions are taken from  the Blue Letter Bible.  It's an awesome tool! Check it out. Spoiler alert: The Bible uses the masculine pronouns, He and Him when referring to the Holy Spirit so He is definitely, not a woman. However, when God created man, He made man in His image, and out of Adam, He created woman. So, God has both masculine and feminine attributes. Today, I want to speak to you about some surprising feminine aspects that are attributed to the Holy Spirit in scripture.   Do you ever read a passage of scripture and think, “What’s with that?” I do, and this is one of those passages. Acts 1: 3 To whom also He showed himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God:  4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, He s...

Pharmekeia

Let’s take a look at the Greek word “pharmekeia.” It is where we get the word “pharmacy.” One of the definitions many Christians give to pharmekeia is medicine or drugs, but that definition misses the full meaning of the word. The actual meaning is “sorcery,” in which magic potions or drugs are often used to cast spells. Demonic influences and even manifestations fuel sorcery. Magic potions and drugs are just some of the tools the devil uses. Some say, "Well, they aren’t “natural”; therefore, they aren’t godly. What is natural? If you define it as “man-made” rather than something that God made, then bread isn’t "natural.” People take ingredients that God created. They alter them by stripping away parts of the grain (flour) and the vegetables or animals (oil or fats). Then, they are combine...

Your mind is like the earth. If you walk a path once, in a few minutes, there will be very little evidence of where you have been, but if you walk it over and over and over again, pretty soon there will be a definite path. And if you walk it enough, it will become a rut that you can get stuck in when it rains. Our thoughts do the same thing to our brains. That is why the Bible says: Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—His good, pleasing, and perfect will. Romans 12:2 Whenever a thought that is contrary to what the Word says comes across our mind, we must immediately choose another path. Refuse the thoughts of the enemy and choose the truth. Walk in His paths, where the mud washes off when it rains instead of trapping you in the muck. It takes determination. Sometimes, when you've been down that path and gotten stuck so many times, the demons grab hold o...
